Surveys the entire sky in gamma rays every three hours. Launched in June 2008 and named after physicist Enrico Fermi. Discovered the Fermi bubbles, giant structures above and below the center of the Milky Way. Detected the gamma-ray burst from the first observed neutron star merger in 2017.
